I mean, we've got all this shit going on in the Middle East, does the US really have to intervene in stuff like ISIS?

It depends, are you an isolationist or moralist?

Of course, it's not a matter of where you are on the spectrum, but just the logical value over it. I mean, attacking a country which is the other side of the world isn't going to help you. America is in debt right now, and it's in a tight economical squeeze. Are you sure you can handle it? Terrorism on terrorism will increase terrorism, and going on with the most logical output is the best output.

I understand that, but we also have the argument of Global Democracy and Enlightened Democracy. Being the world super power comes with consequences. Either we focus on ourselves and loose our political standings amidst nations, or abandon our domestic tranquility and focus on foreign affairs. To be honest, a balance of the two is necessary to keep the nation alive.

I don't see how organizing a irrational operation on a oil silo somewhere in the Middle East is going to keep the US as the best country in the world. They need to learn that they've got to govern themselves first. The US is no longer a superpower because its moralist policies have meant that its gone into debt. Already, it's shown signs of collapsing, look at China.

Somebody has to prevent ISIS however. If it was left unattended, then all of the destabilized regimes in the Middle East would be overthrown. It would a new regional hegemony based on the caliphate and theocracy. We don't need that.

Well that's an overreaction. Of course, if it goes that far, then you're going to need to do something, but right now, it's a couple of thousand men who are ready to behead anyone on Live TV.

It's WAY more than a couple thousand men. It has over 31,000 men. Furthermore these men are highly trained and equipped. Also, if we wait too long, it will be much harder to stop ISIS. Killing it off now will save us the heartache of tearing an entire state off the map again.
